An alumnus of Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in performing arts as she grew as a child. The choir she sang in was entered into contests for singing and also performed in high school and community theatre. After moving into Los Angeles, she studied acting at the University of Southern California and was Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for one year and a quarter. She quit college to find a talent agent who would let her audition for television and films.
